
Rob Koch
Rob has been involved with wireless systems his entire life. The son and grandson of career civil servants in land mobile radio and telecommunications, he served in the US Navy, maintaining communications, navigation and radar systems, rose to the rank of First Class Petty Officer, was deployed overseas, and was decorated for outstanding job performance. He completed his education at UC San Diego, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and earned a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering also at UCSD. Rob started his engineering career in the defense industry, developing high performance RF transceivers and free space optical communications systems. He went on to lead several projects developing new radio technologies through to production, and held customer-facing roles with full responsibility for technical demonstration and presentation. He continued in technical leadership at a Fortune 100 company in a role responsible for new product introduction and technical presentation to strategic accounts, and most recently held an executive role for a major supplier of confined space communications systems including analog and digital distributed antenna systems. Rob has deep theoretical and practical knowledge of modern wireless communications including 4G and 5G systems.
